Hello Kind Reader,

Here is the state of scumboy's world:

Gotta get to work, so this entry is a quickie. Today is my
birthday, so wish me a happy one. It's amazing how the
years fly by -- especially after the age of 20 or 21. You
teens and 20-somethings take note. I was one of you just
a few weeks ago or so it seems.

As I get older, i have adopted a most insidious game. If
you don't want age preying on your mind, you may not
want to read the rest of this paragraph. When I turn a
given age, I always think about how many years have
passed since milestone years. Milestone years are either
years I remember for specific reasons (the year I was 24
for example), or years that everyone considers significant
(18, 21, 30, etc.) I then calculate the number of years that
have passed since. I then add that number to my current
age. The result is sometimes startling. This year I turn 45.
It's been 21 years since that fateful 24th year. It doesn't
seem it's been long at all. In another 21 years I'll be 66.
It's a little creepy. At the same time, it helps me to value
every day.

So I guess that's it for now. If today is your birthday, then
happy birthday to you as well.
